hello ! i just wanted to say, of course now i can't find the post, but i found your blog via searching for information on queries to publications. i sort of fell into freelance writing years ago, and a friend introduced me to -grid- in philadelphia this weekend, figuring i might find a chance contributing to their publication with a story i recently finished about a raw milk dairy and its solar efforts. the publication is geared toward sustainable living.
anyway, i have been doing okay on my own, pitching my work here and there, and starting my own publication (news, not blues), but your post i found about query-ness was very helpful, and i plan to get started down that alley soon with the sustainable living magazine.
these types of posts (the one i don't have on-hand !) by people who know what they're talking about (you !) are definitely a lucky source out there for those of us who stumble upon them.
