Are you having trouble e-mailing me?

I confess that in my haste to cancel my Time Warner cable service, I didn't realize that I would lose all e-mails coming from that address. Ever since I've received very few e-mails and I've had several people ask me if I've been receiving stuff they are sending to me.

If you haven't heard back from me in a timely manner, it's a good bet that I haven't received your e-mail. I am usually very prompt in my responses. Please try to send to both accounts for the time being if you suspect a problem—wendyhoke(at)gmail(dot)com and whoke(at)att(dot)net.

Hi,

This is really completely off-topic, but........

I am curious as to why you canceled your time warner service. Did you go with sbc?

Hi, Robert,
I was an unwilling customer of Time Warner (it consumed Comcast, a service of which I was contented).

We switched our cable and internet to AT&T U-Verse, which is about $14/month cheaper than TW and offers oodles more in terms of cable TV (video on demand, DVR, ESPNU, Big Ten Network, Military History Channel, Encore/Starz/Flix/TMC/Showtime movie package free for year, etc.)

I also like the ease of access with ATT Webmail. I found Roadrunner clunky and not easy to use/organize, etc.

So far (and it's only been a month) we're very pleased with the service. Speed is good, TV picture is better and we'll never again have to flip for who is braving the cold to hit the video store for a movie this winter.

Wendy,

Thanks. I have been fairly disgruntled with TWC recently, which is what prompted the question. I think I'll check out AT&T U-Verse.

Sigh, if I do switch I'll run into the same problem. I have way too many places where my current email is registered....

It IS a pain, but I keep the gmail account, which I've been using more for newsletters, etc., because it never changes.

I spent the first weekend updating registrations. To me, it was worth it.

Good luck.
